Chicken 'n' Biscuits

1 cup chopped onion
1 stick margarine <divided>
1/4 cup water
1 10 1/2-oz can chicken stock
1 cup flour <divided>
1 tsp poultry seasoning
1/2 tsp salt
2 1/2 cups chopped cooked chicken breast
1 10-oz pkg of frozen peas and carrots <thawed>
3/4 cup uncooked oatmeal
2 tsp baking powder
1/2 cup milk
1 egg <beaten>

Heat oven to 425 degrees. 
Cook onion in 2 Tbsp of margarine until tender.  Add water, broth, 1/4 cup of the flour, poultry seasoning and salt.  Cook about 3 minutes or until thickened.  Stir in vegetables and chicken, pour into 2-qt casserole. 
Combine 3/4 cup of flour, oats and baking powder.  Cut in remaining margarine until crumbly.  Stir in milk and  beaten egg until moistened.  Drop 1/4 cupfuls onto chicken and bake 38 to 42 minutes or until golden brown.  If oven is too hot and biscuits began to brown to quickly cover with foil until done.
